Dr. Coate was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is a graduate of Ocean Springs High school. He went on to complete his undergraduate training at Auburn University where he met his future wife, Grace. The pair moved to Jackson, MS for medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and then to Charleston, SC for surgical internship and urologic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
During residency, Dr. Coate received abundant exposure to all aspects of urologic care with ample experience in minimally-invasive (laparoscopic or robotic), open, and endoscopic surgery. His practice focuses on treating both the patient and their disease, utilizing compassion, education, and patient goals to optimize outcomes.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Coate enjoys spending time with his wife and son, exercising, reading, spending time on the water, obsessing over Auburn sports, and posting triple-digit scores on the golf course. He is excited to return to his home state to provide high-level urologic care to his fellow Mississippi natives.
