Dr. Lijtmaer's opinion was that my symptoms were stress, anxiety, and depression related and psychosomatic without even questioning if I was depressed or under stress.
He did not advise on how to make symptoms better at all. Even if it is psychosomatic (which I'm confident that its not), I would think that paying so much to see a Dr, I would at least leave with a plan of action. No advice was given, other than that I can seek a second opinion. Dr. Lijtmaer was dismissive and I left the office in tears and no answers to my relentless symptoms.

Dr. Hugo Lijtmaer joined Dr. Perron and they founded Neurology Group of Bergen County in 1975. He received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1968. He completed his neurology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York City, in 1974. Dr. Lijtmaer's special interests within the practice are Adult Neurology and Evoked Potentials. He serves as the Managing Partner. He was a past President of the Neurological Association of New Jersey 1986-96 and Director of the Neurosciences Department at The Valley Hospital 1985-93. He speaks fluent Spanish and Italian.
