He received his Medical Degree in 2001 from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his 5-year Otolaryngology residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 2006, and then completed a prestigious 2-year fellowship training program in 2008 at the Michigan Ear Institute in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

He received his Medical Degree in 2001 from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his 5-year Otolaryngology residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 2006, and then completed a prestigious 2-year fellowship training program in 2008 at the Michigan Ear Institute in Farmington Hills, Michigan. After his 7 years of training he worked as an Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He specializes in complex ear, sinus and skull base surgery. He also was heavily involved in medical student and residency training and education. Education and mentoring young physicians has always been a passion for Dr. Artz. After 7 years in Philadelphia at Thomas Jefferson University, he and his family moved to West Michigan and joined Grand Rapids Ear Nose and Throat. He operates and has privileges at all of the major hospitals in the Grand Rapids area, including Spectrum, DeVos Children’s Hospital, Mercy St. Mary’s Hospital, Mary Free Bed and University of Michigan at Metro Hospital.

Great Doctor
I've been a patient of Dr Artz for a few years and he is a great doctor. This trip wasn't as productive because of the change over in your system. My audiology appointment which has always been made at the same time as the doctor's visit didn't get automatically switched. And due to a phone number change on my end I never got the message. Or email. So I arrived expecting audiology with feedback from the doctor on the same day.It didn't happen. I understand the reason for the change definitely, but it would have been nice to find out before my appointment, after the original appointment had been made over 6+ months ago.
Great information and spent as much time as was needed to get some answers as to what was going on. Great Doctor!!
We were told to be ON TIME so we arrived early. The hearing test was on time and very nicely done. Very professional . We were on time for the 9 A.M starting time for Dr. Artz. We sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes until we were escorted to an exam room and told "The Dr. Will be in shortly".We sat in that room alone for over 35 minutes with no contact! Finally Dr. Artz came in and immediately started the visit. My feeling was we had some discussion about my dizziness. A few quick areas were checked and his feeling was the possible ear concerns were not valid for my visit concern. He stated I should consider hearing aids. His final remarks sounded like a push for his cynic to sell the aids. We left feeling we had wasted our time!
Will see if prescription helps

Dr. Artz is an excellent physician. He has a great knowledge of the subject matter and is a skilled surgeon. He also has a very kind and caring spirit.
