Dr Alvine came in with very aggressive, angry body language. He made me feel that I was a bother and wasting his time, hurrying thru the exam. I came in because I had a very disturbing episode of neck pain I never experienced before. He seemed upset that I was seeing him instead of my doctor at Mayo. Never felt that I could adequately express my concerns before made diagnosis, recommendations and left. Even though I paid good money for the visit, I never felt welcome or adequate explanation if my neck could or could not caused the problems.

My husband,Laurence Strohman visited Dr. Alvine today. I saw Melissa, Dr. Bruntz’s PA. Both were excellent except for the 1 hour and half wait! Very frustrating. Melissa was very apologetic.

From Dr. Alvine My father had a great influence on me. He was an orthopedic surgeon as well, and I had the opportunity to practice with him over ten years of the past 22 years of my practice. Over the years, I observed how he treated each and every patient as an opportunity to help them, which I try to do today.
About Dr. Alvine Dr. Alvine is a native of Sioux Falls and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1987. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa in 1991 and went on to complete his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Kansas in 1996. He practices general orthopedics with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery and spine surgery.
