Dr. Fuoco was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and completed his undergraduate education at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. He attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he also interned. He completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Tx., and a one-year Interventional Spine/Pain Management fellowship at Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater, Fl. He has been in practice in the Tampa Bay area since 2002.
Dr. Fuoco’s philosophy on helping his patients with pain centers around identifying the primary pain generator and prescribing a comprehensive approach to improve a patient’s pain and maximize functional outcomes. This can include a combination of physical therapy, interventional spinal procedures, appropriate prescription medications, as well as other modalities. A key philosophy to Dr. Fuoco’s work is educating his patients on understanding why they have pain and why the treatment plan has been prescribed. He believes his patients should know as much as possible about their condition and that this understanding of the condition will ultimately help them maximize their outcomes during treatment.

In severe pain from my sciatica. Dr able to fit me in for injection. No wait. Done quickly. Staff very nice
The doctor and his medical staff were excellent, but the scheduling process is woefully substandard. After my initial meeting with the doctor and agreeing that the next step would be an injection, I heard crickets for two days. When I called the scheduling number, I navigated through the phone maze and had to leave a voicemail, which wasn’t returned that day. I left another voicemail and an online message, finally getting a callback the next morning. The scheduler was confused and booked me for an office visit instead of the injection procedure. I finally got a a callback from a different scheduler the next day, who scheduled me for the actual procedure. We discussed having to stop taking blood thinners for some period prior to the procedure, but I had to contact the prescribing cardiologist myself to establish the time frame. I was never advised that I was not supposed to drive for 24 hours post-procedure, so I drove there myself and had to risk driving myself home. Athens app buggy.
Pleasant demeanor and I felt he was focused on my issues. Very pleased.
