At my one week, post surgery visit I was told that I am cleared to drive and all restrictions are removed. I explained that my vision is such that I cannot safely drive. I explained that there is substantial haziness in the eye that had been operated on. I was told there was swelling in the eye and that was the cause of the haze. I also explained how I can’t see well with glasses on or off. It was suggested that the left lens be removed but that created a horrible imbalance between my eyes. I was given a prescription for the left eye, but when I took it to the Optometrist he told me it was just for reading and would not help the balance in vision between my two eyes. This has created a difficult situation for my wife and I as I cannot safely drive and won’t be able to do so until after my other eye is done. That could be weeks. We have no one else to drive so we are forced to cancel medical appointments. I wouldn’t have had the surgery if I known of these issues in advance.
