Dr. Gilberto Acosta, M.D., received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, as well as a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degree in Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. In 1992 he completed his internship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, and then went on to complete his residency in Anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center.
While serving in the armed forces in South Carolina in 1995, Dr. Acosta was assigned as a staff anesthesiologist at Naval Hospital Charleston. He completed his Pain Management fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, then moved to Fort Myers in 2000 to practice at Lee Memorial Health System facilities.
He is Board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a member of a number of professional organizations.

Dr. Acosta really took his time explaining everything. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Very good at what he does. He hospitable, caring for his patients.

Excellent Doctor.
He explained everything very clearly so I could understand what he was saying.
He isn’t the most person so able but he is excellent at what he does in listening and getting rid of your pain
Staff, Dr, Acosta, Compassion! Communication. He’s helping me in ways DUKE could not or even attempted. Iand it requires Rational thought.
We would give him 10 stars if we could excellent doctor great bedside manner really cares about his patience
Is not easy to take 6 injection to numb n 6 for the med but Dr. Gilberto Acosta did gracefully almostvpai less thank you Doc
