Dr. George Edwards, III is a native of Raleigh and completed medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. He completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Edwards is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and hand surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He received the Subspecialty Certificate in Hand Surgery and is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is a member of the Joseph H. Boyes Hand Surgery Society. He is married and has two children. Outside of work, Dr. Edwards enjoys the outdoors including fly fishing, cycling and running. He also enjoys playing the guitar and mandolin.

Not my first visit.
I was seen promptly by Dr. Edwards at my most recent visit. He was very efficient as he laid out my three options. Dr. Edwards is always highly professional, helpful, and courteous.
He was kind, efficient and took care of my problem.
Dr. Edwards is extremely kind, compassionate and caring. I would recommend him to any one who has any issues in the hand to shoulder area.

He and the rest of the staff me feel very comfortable. The Dr. explained everything clearly and the options he provided me with were also explained thoroughly. All of the staff was very friendly.
He was very approachable! I had a lot of questions and he was very patient and welcomed each one.
