I was very disappointed with the care my daughter received. The doctor did not palpate her abdomen or ask about the location or nature of her pain. He gave me two antibiotic options and asked me to choose, rather than using his medical judgment to recommend the appropriate treatment. The prescription was also never sent to the pharmacy as promised, requiring a 30-minute call with an on-call physician to have it sent. We received no discharge paperwork or written instructions. Most concerningly, the on-call physician later told me the prescribed cephalexin dosage had been calculated incorrectly. I understand urgent care can be busy, but I expected a thorough evaluation, appropriate medical guidance, and accurate medication instructions. I hope this visit is reviewed for both patient-care and medication-safety concerns.
