Dr. Canizares is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in sports medicine, trauma and knee and shoulder replacement.
Dr. Canizares was selected to the NFL Neutral Physician Examiners Panel and served as the team doctor for the Miami Heat and Miami Sol. He is currently the Tampa Bay Rowdies team physician.
Dr. Canizares was instrumental in the development of the sports medicine program at All Florida Orthopaedic Associates and serves as the head team physician for multiple Pinellas County high schools and Eckerd college. He has also traveled with several professional sports teams as the team physician.
Outside of work, Dr. Canizares enjoys skiing, pickleball and family time.

Dr. Canizares is the best! He gave me a straight forward diagnosis and plan of care for my injured knee! He and his staff are the best!
Outstanding care for my tennis elbow in both elbows. Took the time to explain everything clearly, and the treatment truly helped. Very impressed.
Very prompt. Asked questions and really listened. Great since of humor. Very good communicator. He chose to give me an injection in my shoulder to give relief of the pain. If this doesn’t help then will do further testing.
