This was my second knee meniscus repair. The first was flawless. I wasn’t disappointed on the other knee. The pain is gone. I can get back to doing all the things that I enjoy.

Dr Van Thiel is a wonderful surgeon! He is a VERY skilled physician with a wonderful bedside manner, I love the way he educates, he is always very thorough. He is very friendly annd approachable, which is not always a trait that such skilled surgeons have. I have had Dr Van Thiel now for two knee surgeries, and I would readily recommend him to anyone that I talk to and would come back to him again in the future if I have any additional needs. Dr Van. Theile appeared to be in a hurry today. No immediate suggestions to help me get out of this pain cycle I’m having. However, I did get the MRI scheduled. So we’ll go from there. I’ve been through this before and I will try to get the cycle stopped myself. I understand about the anti inflammatory situation. Actually, I’m glad he didn’t prescribe some that would hurt my kidneys. Some doctors would have. See you on January 5th!!

Didn’t see Dr. VanThiel but did see his PA. She listened to my status and my questions, answered all and helped me feel comfortable with my treatment decisions.

The doctor I saw before Dr. Van Thiel told me nothing could be done for my knee. Dr. Van Thiel took the time to show me my tests and explain the results and what they meant to my situation. He told me my options and answered all my questions. We came up with a plan on how I can move forward and begin healing. I recommend Dr. Van Thiel to anyone, but especially to those who feel like there is no hope for getting better. There IS hope!

First visit and did not meet the doctor so hard to give an honest evaluation. Previous Orthopedic doctor retired so was really looking forward to establishing a new contact but guess I will meet him after my MRI results.

Diagnosed and explained my condition and instead of trying things that may or may not work he referred me to a joint replacement specialist.

For giving a patient information about surgery which is a very scary ordeal, he offered no advice or specifics regarding all that a surgery would entail! Left feeling like I had no questions answered or if I should or should not go ahead with surgery!!
