The only doctor I enjoy seeing! The wait in the lobby is well worth the treatment you will receive for the doctor. I just had hip replacement in July and now scheduled for knee replacement in December and would not trust anyone else!

My problem with my knee has been a long journey. Life in general made it take so long. Dr. Duffy has been an Amazing support from my first shot to us now planning the surgery. I am excited and at peace knowing that I am in good hands.

Dr. Gavan Duffy is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total hip and knee replacements. He received his medical degree from the University of Dublin in Ireland. After finishing his medical degree, Dr. Duffy moved to the United States and accepted a residency at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic He later completed an adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School and a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, both in Boston, MA.
After completing his education, Dr. Duffy worked at Mayo Clinic from 2001 to 2008. While there he was an associate professor of orthopedics and also held the title for Director of the Hip Fellowship training program. In addition to his extensive training, Dr. Duffy participated in two hip and one knee replacement design teams. He also worked with manufacturing teams for hip and knee replacements.
He is the former Medical Director for the Orthopedic Center of Excellence and the former Chief of Orthopedics at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside. Dr. Duffy has been with Southeast Orthopedic Specialists since 2008. He performs 850 total joint replacements each year and has completed over 16,000 total hip and knee replacements throughout his career. He is currently the Medical Director for Memorial’s Center of Joint Replacement.
