Nice and clean office staff was nice too 👌 👍 I give this office a 10! Dr. Duffy was professional 👌 This was my first time 2 b @ this office, even though I was a couple minutes late for my appointment; Thank God he still see me!!!

First time I have seen Gavan Duffy and I am very pleased. While he didn't rush me, he did answer my questions and got me comfortable with his treatment plan. He certainly didn't spend any extra time with me but handed me off to his capable staff for additional parts of my treatment. He exudes confidence and doesn't hesitate to drop his credentials into the conversation, hum...doctors! Nonetheless, he caught something questionable on my X-rays that had not been brought up by the previous Orthopedists I had seen and conservatively chose to get an MRI to make sure it's nothing of concern. He also took the time to coach me through working with the imaging staff to get the images that he needs. In that way he was clearly helping me so I would get the correct imaging and not have to have a repeat visit. Overall, I am pleased to have found him and look forward to working with him even though I'm not relishing ultimately having surgery.

Dr. Gavan Duffy is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total hip and knee replacements. He received his medical degree from the University of Dublin in Ireland. After finishing his medical degree, Dr. Duffy moved to the United States and accepted a residency at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic He later completed an adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School and a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, both in Boston, MA.
After completing his education, Dr. Duffy worked at Mayo Clinic from 2001 to 2008. While there he was an associate professor of orthopedics and also held the title for Director of the Hip Fellowship training program. In addition to his extensive training, Dr. Duffy participated in two hip and one knee replacement design teams. He also worked with manufacturing teams for hip and knee replacements.
He is the former Medical Director for the Orthopedic Center of Excellence and the former Chief of Orthopedics at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside. Dr. Duffy has been with Southeast Orthopedic Specialists since 2008. He performs 850 total joint replacements each year and has completed over 16,000 total hip and knee replacements throughout his career. He is currently the Medical Director for Memorial’s Center of Joint Replacement.
