Dr. Gale Skousen, M.D., is a dedicated Family Physician with a rich career marked by significant leadership and clinical roles. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Brigham Young University in 1984, where he also completed one year of an MHA program in 1985. He received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in 1989.
Dr. Skousen completed his Family Practice residency at the University of Nebraska in 1999, where he was appointed Chief Resident, honing his leadership and clinical skills. His journey further involved serving as an Instructor at the Interservice Physician Assistant Program at Fort Sam Houston, TX, where he shared his knowledge with future healthcare providers. Dr. Skousen also held the role of Chief of Medical Staff at multiple bases across the United States Air Force, overseeing medical care for service members.
As a Family Physician, Dr. Skousen is passionate about caring for people at every stage of life, from newborns to the elderly. He strongly believes in active listening and ensuring patients feel heard and involved in their healthcare decisions.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Skousen has innovated in medical education by developing a mobile application called “Quizzl,” which delivers Continuing Medical Education (CME) through quick daily quizzes, available on both the Apple Store and Google Play. He is a Delegate of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the Uniformed Services Caucus (AAFP).
Outside of his profession, Dr. Skousen's life revolves around his family, church, and a profound love for woodworking, particularly turning wood on a lathe to create various items.
