The wait was pretty awful today. Arrived at 11:40 (or so) for an appt st noon. It was about 1:10 or so before i was celled back, and then had to wait for Dr. Winkler a bit longer.. (maybe 15 more minutes.) Always feel well taken care once i talk to him.

Before joining VVIS, Dr. Winkler served as an Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Columbia Campus. His extensive professional background includes roles as the Medical Director of the McLeod Vein Center and an attending surgeon at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
Dr. Winkler has held leadership positions in healthcare organizations, including as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Vice President of Surgical Services of the Holy Redeemer Health System in Meadowbrook, PA. He also served as Director of the Division of Vascular and General Surgery and overseeing the General Vascular Surgery Residency Program at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
He has served on Medical Executive Committees in numerous hospitals and health systems throughout his career.
Born in Hungary and educated across Austria, Hungary, and Germany, Dr. Winkler is multilingual, fluent in three languages. He has practiced medicine in four countries on three continents. Dr. Winkler earned his medical degree from Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University Medical School in Germany, with rotations at prestigious institutions such as Harvard and the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. His postgraduate training includes internships and fellowships in Germany, research in Orthopedic Oncology in Pennsylvania, a General Surgery Residency at Temple University Hospital, and a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia.
In his free time, Dr. Winkler enjoys skiing, tennis, and playing Bridge.
