Pretty disappointed. Front desk and x-ray was very nice but my consultation Dr. Raia was frustrating. He almost seemed annoyed. I’ve had this pain for almost 4 years and his “diagnosis” from a 1 sec. consultation was “there’s nothing you can do. Rub some pain gel on it and push through it.” Said x-ray looks good and no arthritis so probably a tendon or ligament issue, I already knew that. If only we had the technology to see tendons and ligaments…man that would be nice. I could tell this is a corporate “see as many patients as possible and if it’s not surgical day one get them out.”

He behaved like a butcher only concerned with chopping a piece of meat for the best profit. 3. I asked him about treatment options which he ignored and rudely ended my visit when I asked a pertinent question. 4. He then gestured to me the way out, even though I asked him again about treatment alternatives for both my hands. I will not recommend him to anyone, even for operating on a dinner pig. 5. He is a disgrace to the humane oath which governs the medical profession.

Great Doctor!!! No messing around. Gets to the point of any matter.

Spent about 3 minutes with my hand/finger issues and had no course of action to resolve my issues. I had to mention that since an xray the prior day showed no fractures or broken bones that the next step would be an MRI which would further show if any tendons or ligament damage was the issue. Frank acknowledged that would show if any ligaments or tendons were damaged but did not pursue a referral for the MRI. Was a waste of time and money to see Frank. Would never refer anyone to this doctor.

Didn’t really seem to care about me or my life. Was not personal. Everything he said sounded rehearsed. Like he wanted in and out. Just being able to see these Dr’s have cost me my job. I don’t have very much time to spend out of work. They seem to think I can work 12-15 hour days and, raise a family. While doing several different physical therapy sessions. Not to mention all the fallow up appointments with them. All he did was Punt the ball. It seems all these Dr’s here just want to punt the ball.

Going into the appointment with Dr. Raia despite what I was told by my referring physician, I felt the issue I was experiencing with my hand was due to repetitive stress, and that it could be ameliorated or obviated without surgery. The first thing many surgeons recommend is to have surgery done instead of other forms of remediation. Dr. Raia reviewed the EMG test I had taken, asked me questions, and tested my hand, and concurred that surgery was unnecessary as long as things are progressing as they have been. I was expecting to be told that surgery would be necessary. His honest assessment and advice was very much appreciated.

Should’ve listened to all the negative reviews about attitude at this office. I brought an EMG taken 9/21 noting issues with my left hand and right arm. The Dr. read the report but said nothing about those problems.

After waiting an hour asked what was going on as patients arriving after us were being seen. Was told X-rays were running behind. I noted he’d already had X-rays which had been confirmed when the appointment was made, when I’d asked ‘do I need to bring copies,’ and was told ‘no, they had them.’ PA, who was extremely pleasant, filled out the same questionnaire that we’d just filled out in the lobby. Dr came in and asked about X-rays, said he didn’t have them, DID NOT BOTHER TO EXAMINE my son. Didn’t even look at his hand. Said an MRI was needed without examination. So, wasted two hours of my time to spend five seconds with a Dr., who had not done his homework prior to the appointment nor did he examine my son during. I’m fine with the MRI recommendation, but if that was needed, the staff should have noted that prior to the appointment and the MRI could have been done in advance and under this year’s insurance. Absolute unprofessional waste of time and money.

Dr. Raia was able to help a hand issue I had years ago and, hopefully, this time will be as easy. Only time will tell, but he is friendly and takes the time to listen and explain.

I'm astonished by my experience. He came in told me I was fine and was waiting for me to leave within 2 minutes. He seemed unwilling to spend the time to see what was wrong and just got me out the door. Seemed like he assumed I was crying wolf when I cant turn my wrist to look at my watch most of the time and I cant get myself off the floor using that arm because of my wrist. Very displeased for him to ask me to turn my wrist over, tell me to just not do pushups, and wait for me to leave. Shocking experience. Will never go back.

Dr. Raia was very rude, uncaring, arrogant and unprofessional with me. One example of many is the anesthesiologist was about to prepare me for surgery, and Dr. Raia was texting on his phone at my bedside, in the operating room. I asked him if he'd put his phone away- it made me nervous going under for surgery. He laughed at my comment.

My finger looks worse then when he started treating me! And on my last appt after expressing that I’m concerned about the functionality of the finger.. he bent it so hard I thought he broke it again! It hurt so bad and still does! And when I expressed that.. he said that it’s normal.. just to start working it again.. and told me I’m done! He’s not even going to see me again!! Time for a new orthopedic!!!

I'm not at all impressed with any part of the Core Institute. They make you feel like a herd of cattle waiting in long lines and crowded waiting rooms. When you finally get to talk to anyone, whether be it front office staff or the doctor, it's clear that they don't have much time to spend with you and they show no personal interest in your case. I took the time to gather up my previous test results, as per the appointment scheduler's request, and then I was told by the nurse that the doctor has no interest in my previous test results.

I'd be surprised if Dr Raia spent 6 minutes with me. He seemed impatient and rushed and as he ushered me out the door he ran into the room next door with another patient. He didn't acknowledge the pain and pretty much downplayed my issues. This place feels like an industrial line stacking patient appointments on top of each other - don't be fooled by their marketing.

As a professional adult, the expectation is that a doctor, whom you assume is a professional would listen to you. Having never met Dr. Raia, he was immediately aggressive with me and cut me off - I don’t recall him asking any questions and he scoffed at me. I actually had to tell Dr. Raia if he continues to be aggressive with me and talk down to me I will simply walk out. When I attempted to tell him the issue, what needed to be fixed, and why, he told me oh well. If it heels funny it heels funny. He also had no interest in hearing the negative effects this has on my profession or that the very real issue has been as such fir four weeks. When I was leaving, he then got on the phone and started talking about me, literally behind my back. He also wanted me to go back and see him in 4 weeks. When I checked out the front desk staff attempted to schedule a follow up. I advised them I will not return and I shared with them why. I have of course shared my experience.
