I appreciate the manner in which the doctor explains symptoms and treatment for such.

I haven’t seen Dr. McCafferty since early 2003 but I brag about him all the time and this year I saw Dr. Denise and I was very pleased with her as well.

I came in because of a meat allergy I’ve had for 10 years (alpha-gal). All the skin test result came back negative for beef and pork. That same day I ate a double cheeseburger for the first time in years. 3 hours later I broke out in hives and wound up in the ER. The following Monday I left a message with the office and asked for a callback with any thoughts on might what may be going on. My cell is 770 558-7867. One of the most bizarre doctor's appointments I’ve ever had. He made condescending remarks about his colleagues referring all the hives patients to him so they didn’t have to deal with them. He stated he already knew everything I would say regarding symptoms pointing out he’d already typed it all in my file notes. His demeanor was very concerning regarding practice ownership.

Felt I got top notch care! Not just for my asthma and allergies, but for other issues that are a result of my asthma and allergies.

He asked technical statistic questions just to try to embarrass me when I would get them wrong. He would not stop and listen to my questions. He stated that su child would not be allergic to anything and when the results came back positive he provided very little help in how to move forward. This was the worst medical visit I have ever had.

Didn’t feel like I was being heard. He kept over talking me at least 3 times and took over the conversation. Very little eye contact and I felt rushed as if he wanted me in and out the office. Only thing I appreciated was refill of my medications.

When I first came to Atlanta Allergy I absolutely loved Dr. McCafferty; however over the last 3 to 4 years he has been sinister, complaining about how horrible his job is, how he doesn’t get paid enough, advising me on not to allow any young person to go into the medical field, and just a Debbie Downer. He spends more time complaining than actually addressing whatever issue or concern to the point I can’t take it and have changed my doctor. I plan to report to my doctor for a different referral as well. It’s just not professional or right.

Dr. McCafferty had a strong personality that was a bit overwhelming. It was a little off putting. He did not take the time to explain what was going to happen during the visit or why, and did not seem open to questions. He was friendly, and I'm sure he knows what he is doing, but he did not communicate things well. It kind of felt like meeting a bulldozer. I left with a handful of prescriptions, but no real understanding of what's going on or what our ultimate goal is.
