Growing up with parents who both worked in the medical field, Dr. Foluke Uche, M.D., has never been a stranger to medicine. Her father is a retired medical laboratory technologist, and her mom, a nurse, was her inspiration for becoming a medical doctor.
Now an internal medicine and obesity medicine specialist, Dr. Uche’s favorite part of being a physician is helping people navigate their health concerns. She strives to support people to achieve their best health possible by getting to know the whole patient, not just their disease. She does this through a simple yet sometimes uncommon practice in healthcare – hospitality.
Dr. Uche believes in the power of a smile and is great at making her patients feel comfortable by building trust, sharing kindness, and promoting mutual respect. When it comes to giving her patients advice, her best practices include keeping their doctor’s appointments, keeping well hydrated, eating fresh foods and whole grains, and staying away from processed foods.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, interior design and decorating, and taking walks. She’s also an avid fan of women’s and men’s soccer and loves Nigerian food, Christian music, and country music.
