I was very uneasy about getting the Colonoscopy done since this was my first time but Dr. Bortniker made it go smoothly and explained everything thoroughly. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor.

Attended to me quickly. Asked if I had questions and offered advice when asked. It would be helpful if medication option benefits and detractions were gone over. But great overall!

In 2019, life brought Dr Bortniker to the sunshine of southern California where he joined faculty at UCSD and San Diego VA.
Dr Bortniker has pursued additional clinical training in medical hypnotherapy for patients with Gastrointestinal disorders. Prior to joining Coastal Gastroenterology, Dr Bortniker spent one year with a private practice in Palm Springs.
Dr Bortniker practices general Gastroenterology with an interest in motility, disorders of the brain gut access, prevention of GI tract cancers, liver disease, and general endoscopy including colonoscopy, egd, and capsule endoscopy.
