He routinely treats injuries of the shoulder, hip, and knee with minimally-invasive arthroscopic techniques. He specializes in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. This highly specialized technique provides very rapid recovery and enhanced outcomes compared with traditional open surgical techniques. Dr. Peterson also specializes in arthroscopic ACL surgery and cartilage restoration techniques. His extensive arthroscopic experience will allow rapid recovery for the elite athlete or weekend warrior.
Dr. Peterson also has trained extensively in joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow. While at the Mayo Clinic, he was trained in complex joint reconstructive procedures as well as exposed to the latest techniques. He uses minimally invasive approaches that result in less postoperative pain and quicker recovery. He has a broad general orthopedic practice that also encompasses operative and non-operative fracture care.
