Dr. Oltra always goes above and beyond. She has an excellent bedside manner and is wonderful with parents and children alike. She is astute at diagnosing conditions that other physicians have missed and careful in referring patients to appropriate sub specialists. Even if you're getting news that you'd rather not get about your child's eyes (especially during pandemic and hoping not to have a follow-up so soon while one's child struggles with the discomfort of wearing masks)...Dr. Oltra is kind & makes the child and the parent feel like they are in the best hands. Dr. Erica Oltra is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon with a private practice in Manhattan.
She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Bioengineering and then earned her M.D. from Penn State College of Medicine. After an internship at Harbor UCLA, Dr. Oltra completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Chicago where she was elected to serve as chief resident. Dr. Oltra then pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. She has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and has presented at both national and international meetings.
Prior to joining Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants, Dr. Oltra served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College.
