Wanting a career focused on the service of others, Dr. Szczesniak attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois, for his undergraduate education. Much of that early education was spent in engineering courses. While attending Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, his mechanical background and engineering passion led him to an orthopedic surgery specialty.
Dr. Szczesniak continued his training through an orthopedic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. There, he developed a strong interest in total joint replacement, which proved to be the ideal field to combine a highly technical engineering proficiency with the ability to improve a patient’s quality of life. Dr. Szczesniak then completed his fellowship at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland, where he learned from the most challenging cases and honed his skills.
In his free time, friends and family are a priority, but he still finds time for his interest in aviation and related hobbies as well as running to stay active.

He has never looked at my knee just Xrays,CT AND MRI . I can barely walk because of pain now in both knees. He doesn’t seem to care.

Unfortunately as I was experiencing chronic pain higher than 10, My PCP reached out to LSBJ questing to speak with a doctor, but was denied. On Saturday, I called after hours line; spoke with Dr. Kay,, was instructed to go the the ER. I did @ St. Mary Med. Ct. When contacted by ER physician, he refused request to admit me AND couldn't recall talking to me. Per ER physician, based on MRI, pain resulting from "tendon tears." Requiring pain MGMT. Finally, Dr. Knesak accepted admission,. On 2nd. Day of my 3 day stay, I was visited by Jessica, Dr. Knesak's assistant. Third/final day, I was discharged with a prescription - NEVER saw Dr. Knesak, nor his assistant. At one time I highly favored LSBJ, ,w/25 physicians & 6 locations, I was forced to feel like my overall orthopedic health & chronic pain meant absolutely N🚫THING to anyone. There was N🚫 compassion, empathy, concern, etc..I've referred may church members there, 3 of them had surgical procedures performed by your doctors.
Dr. Szczesniak is always thorough, efficient, professional, & kind. I very much appreciate his expertise & am always satisfied with the medical care I receive.
I appreciate his listening to me. I feel he is truly yrying to find out what is going on with my knee pain.
