Wanting a career focused on the service of others, Dr. Szczesniak attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois, for his undergraduate education. Much of that early education was spent in engineering courses. While attending Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, his mechanical background and engineering passion led him to an orthopedic surgery specialty.
Dr. Szczesniak continued his training through an orthopedic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. There, he developed a strong interest in total joint replacement, which proved to be the ideal field to combine a highly technical engineering proficiency with the ability to improve a patient’s quality of life. Dr. Szczesniak then completed his fellowship at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland, where he learned from the most challenging cases and honed his skills.
In his free time, friends and family are a priority, but he still finds time for his interest in aviation and related hobbies as well as running to stay active.
Dr. Szczesniak and his team treated me wonderfully before and after my hip replacement surgery today! He met with me before the procedure to explain what to expect and confirm what’s to be done. Kiddingly, I can’t comment on what occurred during the actual surgery as I was deep asleep! My entire journey with Dr. Szczesniak from the first time I consulted with him and all subsequent appointments and on this day of surgery or my opinion, excellent! I was extremely nervous about the idea of a hip replacement, but he put me at ease! Thank you, Dr. Szczesniak-
Great doctor, great bed side manner. So Thankful for a quick surgery & speedy recovery! 💯🥰🦿
As always, Dr. Szczesniak has my best interest at heart
Doctor to the find job of explaining his procedure and what goes on when you're talking about surgery
Outstanding . Kind mannerisms, extremely intelligent surgeon. He did a TKR recently on my one knee… total success. In few months , he will be trusted to do my other.
He listens. Answers all questions. He is patient. He explains in layman’s terms. I cannot think of a negative. I’ve seen him 4 times in office for my bad hips so far. I saw him every day there. I will return to him for my 2nd Hip replacement.
I was pleased that he explained everything to me about my total hip surgery in terms I could understand.
Doctor did my left total hip replacement 3 years ago, and now planning the right one. I trust him.
Very friendly and caring Dr. A++++++
