Eric Thall, M.D. grew up on Long Island. He graduated from the City University of New York – Queens College in 1987 with honors in Mathematics and English and then attended the State University of New York at Downstate Medical College, graduating with honors and as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1991.

At the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, Dr. Thall served as a resident in General Surgery from 1991 to 1993, and then continued his training at Mount Sinai serving as a resident in Urology from 1993-1996 and as Chief Resident of Urology from July 1996 through June 1997.
During his training, Dr. Thall participated in both clinical and laboratory research, leading to international recognition in peer review journals. He has presented his work at such prestigious venues as the American College of Surgeons and the American Urological Association national conferences. His work in kidney cancer research earned him a Valentines Essay Research Award from the New York Academy of Science in conjunction with the New York Chapter of The American Urological Association and The National Kidney Foundation.
Upon concluding his training at Mount Sinai, Dr. Thall and his family relocated to Long Island. He introduced Laparoscopic Urology to the South Shore and continues to provide cutting edge Laparoscopic Surgery to his patients locally.
Dr. Thall has served on the board of the Medical Staff at South Nassau Communities Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. He has recently been re-appointed the Director of the Department of Urology as well as an officer on the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff at Mercy Medical Center.
In addition, Dr. Thall has been elected President of the Medical Staff at Mercy Hospital beginning January 1, 2019 for a two year term. Responsibilities of this position include presiding over the Executive Board of the appointing members to the standing committees of the Medical Staff, establishing Ad Hoc committees and overseeing all disciplinary actions to members of the Medical Staff.
Dr. Thall is currently a Hofstra University Medical School Clinical Instructor at South Nassau Hospital. He has served as a faculty lecturer in Urology to both medical students and residents from Hofstra University Medical School, The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Nassau University Hospital, and the Family Practice residency program at SNCH.
While practicing general adult and pediatric urology, Dr. Thall has a particular interest and expertise in urological oncology, endoscopic/ laparoscopic urology, and female urology. He offers his patients access to all of the newest technologies including: shock wave lithotripsy for kidney stones, holmium laser lithotripsy for difficult stone cases, minimally invasive green light laser prostatectomy, cryosurgical and radiofrequency treatment of renal tumors, and advanced adult and pediatric laparoscopy.
Dr. Thall has admitting privileges at a number of institutions including: Mercy Medical Center, South Nassau Communities Hospital, and Northwell Health – Manhasset.
Dr. Thall sees patients at both the main Rockville Center location as well as the satellite Long Beach Office. Office hours are available by appointment for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and some Sundays. Evening hours are available on Monday and Thursday.
