Dr. Gowing sees and treats a wide range of rheumatologic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome, fibromyalgia, gout, osteoarthritis and takes a special interest in osteoporosis.
The best part of Dr. Gowing’s job is building connections and relationships with his patients. Developing a long history with his patients allows him to not only understand his patients better, but also their unique conditions.
In his free time, Dr. Gowing enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing music, golfing, traveling, and reading – specifically nonfiction historical books.
Dr. Gowing is always thorough and personable. It is a pleasure to meet with him.

Dr. Gowing is amazing! I feel he’s trustworthy, straightforward, and takes his position and patients seriously. He has helped me greatly with my many medical problems and challenges. I absolutely recommend him as a rheumatologist as well as an Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialist. He works with you to improve issues and he doesn’t brush you off like some other physicians out there.
As always, Dr. Gowing and his staff in my opinion, are the best rheumatologiy department in the Fox Valley, if not the state.
You are a very compassionate, caring and thorough doctor. You never rush your appointments and you take time out to answer any questions.
He actually read my chart. I didn’t have to start at square one because he took the time to read my history before my appointment. He listened. He asked great questions. He explained why I was having specific symptoms, and it made sense. I arrived anxious and left with a feeling of relief I haven’t felt in over a decade regarding my health care. This is what health care is supposed to feel like. Support and compassion.
