Dr. Cohen is an incredible surgeon, one of the best. The surgical procedure was fantastic. The post-op care, however, could be improved upon. Other ortho practices have published protocols on post-op care, what to expect at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, etc. This is not the case with Dr. Cohen’s office, but patients need guidelines and expectations. Yes, every patient is different, and their recovery process is different, but there should at least be some written literature provided. I found the post-op appointments pretty amorphous on information. Also, you are made to wait 40 plus minutes in the room waiting for the dr, only to have the resident come in and ask the same questions that the dr will. Then you have to wait for the dr, who sees you for all of a couple of minutes. As a patient this is very frustrating. Lastly, PT is only recommended for the first two weeks, and I don’t feel this is appropriate. The muscles need strengthening, and a PT is essential for at least 6 weeks.

Dr Cohen is the best surgeon. His bedside manners are a step above any other doctors. He really cares about his patients. After full replacement hip surgery, I'm able to walk without pain again. His staff is also fantastic. His NP, Liz, is wonderful too.

Dr. Cohen was professional, informative, and personable. He did not rush the appointment and answered all my questions in detail. I found him to be supportive, he did not push me to have the surgery but encouraged me to think about all the details and ramifications carefully as I make my decision.
