Dr. Shieh is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds a State of California medical licensure. Prior to joining North Bay Eye, he practiced at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center, where he performed an impressive over 6000 cataract surgeries. He is also a sub-investigator for the North Bay Eye Associates Clinical Research Department, contributing to advancements in ophthalmology.
His notable accomplishments include the Edith and Denton McKane Award for research in Ophthalmology from Columbia University, an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship at Harvard University, and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Shieh is married and has two teenage daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys photography and travel. He is also an avid athlete, having completed several triathlons, marathons, and century bike rides, including finishing the 70.3 Vineman Ironman Triathlon twice.
