Dr. Elpidio Magalong, Jr., M.D., received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of the Philippines. After his training, he joined a multi-specialty practice in Visalia, and in 2003, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to practice as a hospitalist and post-acute care physician.
Dr. Magalong is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Certified Medical Director by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. He is on the medical staff at Alta Bate in Berkeley, Summit Medical Center in Oakland, Alameda Hospital, John George Hospital and San Leandro Hospital.
As an advocate for patient safety and quality of care, he has served as the Chief of Staff/President of the Medical Staff and Chair of Medicine at Alameda Hospital. He also serves as a medical director at several skilled nursing facilities in the community.
