Dr. Elizabeth Evangelista, M.D., was born in Everett, Washington. Inspired by the way her younger sister overcame immense medical challenges, Dr. Evangelista pursued a medical degree in the Caribbean at the American University of Antigua. She completed her residency at Shasta Community Health Center in Redding, CA, where she provided comprehensive care to underserved communities and also developed a strong interest in Obstetrics and Women’s Health.
Though her younger sister passed away while Dr. Evangelista was in medical school, Dr. Evangelista says her sister’s legacy continues to influence the work that she does, particularly in caring for pregnant mothers and newborns. She is excited about the continuity of care that Family Medicine offers and being able to support patients through every stage of life.
Dr. Evangelista says she was drawn to WHMC because of its dedication to rural health, collaborative environment, and the ability to build lasting relationships within the community. Outside of work, Dr. Evangelista enjoys hiking, baking, reading, and spending time with her husband and their 3 pets. She says she is thrilled to be back in the PNW and part of the Whitman community.
