Eithan Kotkowski, M.D., was raised bi-lingual and bi-cultural on both sides of the United States–Mexico border. Growing up at the foot of the beautiful Franklin Mountains in El Paso, one of his favorite childhood memories was taking regular hikes. In high school, he studied abroad in the small, landlocked Kingdom of Eswatini in Southern Africa. Intrigued by film, psychology, and the connection between brain and mind, he combined his love of cinematography and health by caring for the people of Eswatini; filming mothers living with HIV and how they cared for their children. It was then that he knew he wanted to pursue medicine.
