Edward Gronka, M.D., grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania near the Pocono Mountains and moved to Atlanta in 1977 to attend Emory University, where he earned the George P. Cuttino Award for academic achievement. He later received his Medical Doctorate from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Gronka brings more than 27 years of experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery and is Board Certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He completed five years of General Surgery training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida, serving as Chief Resident in his final year, before continuing his education with a plastic surgery residency at The Ohio State University, where he trained under internationally recognized leaders in the field.
Dr. Gronka has been practicing in Atlanta since 1992 and has been recognized for the past three years by Lifestyles Magazine as one of the “Top Docs of the Southern Arc,” an honor voted on by his peers. He credits this recognition to his patient-centered philosophy: “Each patient must be evaluated as an individual, and a unique plastic surgery approach must be tailored to that person’s needs.” With this mindset, Dr. Gronka carefully designs comprehensive treatment plans that are highly personalized and proportionate to each patient’s body type.
Dr. Gronka is extensively trained in all areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery, with special interests in cosmetic enhancement of the breast, face, and body—including the abdomen, hips, and thighs. He is also highly experienced in reconstructive procedures of the breast and body. Among the surgeries he performs most frequently are breast augmentation and reduction, liposuction, abdominoplasty, facelifts, eyelid surgery, and breast reconstruction following mastectomy. Patients often commend Dr. Gronka for his thorough knowledge, clear communication, and compassionate approach, noting his ability to exceed expectations through resourcefulness and precision. In 2013, he completed advanced training in the use of Mentor MemoryShape® Breast Implants, a leading option in breast aesthetics known for combining natural shape and feel with long-lasting results and a proven record of safety.
Dr. Gronka performs the majority of his cosmetic procedures at the Advanced Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center and also holds privileges at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Like his colleague Dr. Joseph Raniere, he is an active member of both the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Outside of his practice, Dr. Gronka enjoys a full family life with his wife and two children. He is also a musician, playing drums in the local band Gravity alongside Dr. Raniere. His personal interests include golf, music, and cooking, and he enjoys traveling the world to pursue these passions.
