Dr. Edward H. Becker III, M.D., is a Sports Medicine Surgeon and General Orthopaedic Specialist of Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay. He had his training as a resident in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

Wouldn’t let my daughter finish explaining her injury but kept saying he didn’t understand. “Don’t sit on your knees” is not an appropriate response to a kid who’s knee dislocated. Being annoyed and walking out of the room is never okay when a teen is upset by that uncalled for response to her knee pain. Maybe try letting people fully explain, so you can actually understand and diagnose the real issues. Will never see this provider again.

Best ortho for the injury that I suffer, takes the time to ensure that the patient understand the process and cure. I highly recommend Dr Edward Becker lll

Requested to see the doctor and never saw him, his assistant was who I saw. There is no way to review someone who isn’t actually seeing patients

A Most Excellent Ortho Surgeon, and while I have not experienced his cutting skills, I have met and spoken with enough Orthopedic surgeons to judge Dr. Becker as " Old School " in his manner , his knowledge and care !! He actually listens to his patients , which is Rare , in My experience !! He addressed all of My concerns relating to my injury !! I highly recommend this Dr. !!

Dr. Edward H. Becker III, M.D., is a Baltimore native who graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class with a degree in biological sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He continued his education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he received multiple awards for academics and was elected president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. It was during medical school that Dr. Becker decided to pursue a career in Sports Medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Becker continued his training as a resident in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. During his residency, he was active in orthopaedic research in subjects including basic science, spine surgery, trauma, and sports medicine. He has had multiple publications in the orthopaedic literature and has presented his research at various national and international orthopaedic meetings. During his final year of residency, Dr. Becker was selected by the faculty at the University of Maryland to act as academic chief resident. He had the opportunity during his residency to work with many local high school and college teams, including the University of Maryland Terrapins.
After completion of his residency, Dr. Edward Becker elected to further his training in Sports Medicine and was selected to do a fellowship at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California, under fellowship director Neal ElAttrache. During this time, he received advanced training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He also had the opportunity to work with colleges and professional teams, including the world champion Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks, Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Ducks, and USCsports teams.
Dr. Becker is one of the few surgeons who is subspecialty certified as a sports medicine expert. He performs a wide range of advanced orthopaedic procedures, including, but not limited to, arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL reconstruction), rotator cuff repair, labral repair, posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (PCL reconstruction), knee ligament repair/reconstruction, cartilage restoration procedures, meniscal repair, subchondroplasty, medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction/patellar instability surgery, biceps tenodesis, biceps tendon repair, fracture repair, orthobiologics (platelet rich plasma injections), carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, etc.
