Dr. Edmund Witkowski has been a partner with Suncoast Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine since the year 2000.
He is fellowship trained in both Sports Medicine and Adult Reconstruction surgery (Joint Replacement) and is the only orthopaedic surgeon in the Venice and Englewood area with fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction/Joint Replacement.
His years in practice with Suncoast Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group, and the U.S. military have given him extensive experience in complex fracture care, joint replacement and revision surgery, and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.

I’ve been blessed to have learned my trade from some of the best orthopaedic surgeons in the country. I completed extra fellowship training in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery with a pioneer in the field. I learned about the unicompartmental knee from the surgeon who developed it. I’ve been really fortunate, so I honor my teachers by doing the best job I can for my patients. I always try to explain their options in plain language, then discuss the best treatment based on their needs.”

“Though I always look for nonsurgical solutions first, there are times when surgery is the best or only answer. This doesn’t always mean the latest technique; sometimes the tried-and-true methods work better for some patients than more recent techniques.
