He worked as an electrical engineer for several years before pursuing a career in medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his internship and residency at Louisiana State University Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He also completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center under G. James Sammarco, MD.
He currently lives in Connelly Springs, North Carolina where he enjoys the abundant outdoor activities available in North Carolina.
