My appointment was for 9 a.m. I saw Dr Mahoney around10:35 or so. Such happens. My expectations were for him to tell me what he saw in X-Ray and MRI in detail so I would have working knowledge of my condition. I read my own MRI report . . . and I studied the terms etc to understand my condition. I guess my expectations did not meet reality. I am 71 working hard to maintain my health and understand realistically the challenges ahead--I did not get those.. I know cannot undue the damage from 22 years in the military . . . but I left feeling like I'm just an old man with back issues, so Turf me. He seems like a good man, whom many of my swimming buddies know and recommended, which is why I switched care facilities for my back. I know we all have days where our minds our consumed and distracted, but I work hard to live a wonderful life and I want to ensure I know what is ahead of me.

Holding more than 13 years’ experience in surgical and non-surgical orthopedic spine care, Dr. Mahoney is recognized for his expertise in innovated spine care. Dr. Mahoney is training in specialty procedures including, Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) and Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion (OLIF) for a lateral approach to access the spine.
Dr. Mahoney earned his post-graduate fellowship education from SpineCare Medical Group and completed his residency program and Yale University. Dr. Mahoney earned his doctoral degree from New York University and his undergraduate education from Fordham University.
Dr. Mahoney is active in the medical community holding a membership with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
