Dr. Douglas Holden completed his undergraduate education in microbiology at the University of Rochester in New York. He then went on to Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree before discovering his passion for general orthopaedics. Dr. Holden returned to Columbia University to the College of Physicians and Surgeons to receive his medical degree, followed by the completion of his general and orthopaedic surgery residencies at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He then furthered his academic and practical studies by undertaking a Joint Preservation and Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. His patient-focused and conservative approach to treatment allows him to provide exceptional care in a welcoming environment.

Dr Holden doesn’t stop surprising me how good he is . He Finally decided that I have to do shoulder surgery . honestly with all my worries about a painful surgery process ,I feel comfortable that he is my treating doctor and the surgeon who will perform my surgery . That’s a big plus when you have a professional , understanding doctor who makes you feel this way professionally and personally . Dr Holden is all that . He is the best . Thank you
Great Doctor, Attentive & Caring
Dr. Holden is very thorough and takes his time with each and every patient! His thorough explanation as well as, listening to my concerns. He then answered each question I had without rushing through was very comforting. Then after answering them turned to my partner and asked if he had any questions. He thoroughly wants his patients to understand. The day of surgery he came to me with his contagious Smile and asked me if I had any further questions that may have come to my mind. I smiled back and said no I’m ready! You have thoroughly gone through everything with me and I am looking forward to getting out of pain. His concern for each and every patient is amazing! Then at the post-op appointment he was just as thorough again, taking his time and discussing my progress. Thank you, Dr. Holden for caring and going the extra!

Dr. Holden has proven to be—aside from being an absolute expert at his craft—a truly delightful charismatic human being. I’ve seen him about three times, and from the start he demonstrated exceptional medical expertise coupled with a knack for explaining things and options .But his greatest asset is his endearing personality. He is genuinely a great person. I highly recommend Dr. Holden.
