I have a few more questions .my backers cyst still bothers me .Will it get better in time is meniscus surgery ruled out? I do PT exercises in the gym. Is there anything more I can do? It’s been seven months. Thank you.

Great meeting with the Doctor. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all my questions and concerns. Would definitely recommend him and use him again.
Dr. Douglas Goumas spent a lot of time playing sports when he was growing up and that led to his interest in orthopedic surgery.
“After injuring my shoulder playing football in my junior year of high school, I went to the orthopedic surgeon and was fascinated by what he did. At that point I figured this might be something that I want to do when I grow up.”
Dr. Goumas’ s subspecialty is shoulder and knee surgery.
“My mentor told me to learn a handful of operations. I have taken that advice. The shoulder surgery that I perform includes arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery and instability surgery. I also perform total shoulder replacement surgery. The knee surgery that I perform includes ACL reconstruction, patellofemoral realignment surgery and knee arthroscopy including meniscal surgery. I also perform total knee replacement surgery. In addition, I have experience in surgery for tennis elbow and bicep tendon injuries.”
Dr. Goumas grew up in a factory town in Ansonia, Connecticut, outside of Bridgeport and he takes pride in making all of his patients feel comfortable.

He interned and did his residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, Connecticut. Dr. Goumas did his sports medicine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital as one of the fellows working with the Boston Celtics.
