Doris Elena Franco-Vitteri, M.D., was born and raised in Lima, Peru. Growing up she enjoyed the endless variety of tasteful foods and beautiful beaches of Lima. Growing up in a medical family, her dad was also a physician, she knew early on the importance of caring for her patients like family, treating them with respect, compassion, and listening to their needs.
Dr. Franco-Vitteri has been a medical doctor for over 20 years. She earned her doctor of medicine from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, and attended Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where she was an Internal Medicine Chief Resident. She is also a certified nutritional trainer in diabetes and obesity.
Dr. Franco-Vitteri is an Amercian Board Certified Internal Medicine doctor, and specializes in chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes. She prides herself in early prevention, “I strongly believe that educating our patients about their condition is the best way to control it. Also, prevention and routine screening is key to keeping us healthy”. Dr. Franco-Vitteri joined Gonzaba Medical Group in 2025 as an Internal Medicine physician.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking and practicing sports.
Dr. Franco-Vitteri is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.

Dr Franco was very professional and sweet
met Dr Franco for the first time she was very thorough and very nice.
