Dr. McDonald specializes in treating a wide range of spinal conditions with both surgical and non-surgical techniques. His main priority is providing patient centered care that improves his patient’s quality of life.
His specialties include minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, degenerative spinal disorders, AI-driven custom 3D printed implants, artificial lumbar/cervical disc replacement, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and fusion, and lateral and anterior spinal surgery. He has a strong interest in utilizing robotic and image-guided technology to enhance precision and safety in spine surgery.
His research has been featured in several peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. Outside of work, Dr. McDonald is passionate about giving back through community service and mentoring. He enjoys spending time with his spouse and two children, traveling, visiting museums, and watching FSU and Miami Dolphins football.

He was friendly, and recommended a conservative treatment which I greatly appreciated!
I waited 1 full hour to see Dr McDonald. He looked at my X-rays and said he could do nothing for me. He said continue to do what ever makes my symptoms feel better. When I asked him for particular advice, he had none. I asked about bracing for scoliosis and he said it might help symptoms but not sure. So I left that visit with an empty and hopeless feeling!
