Dr. McDonald specializes in treating a wide range of spinal conditions with both surgical and non-surgical techniques. His main priority is providing patient centered care that improves his patient’s quality of life.
His specialties include minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, degenerative spinal disorders, AI-driven custom 3D printed implants, artificial lumbar/cervical disc replacement, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and fusion, and lateral and anterior spinal surgery. He has a strong interest in utilizing robotic and image-guided technology to enhance precision and safety in spine surgery.
His research has been featured in several peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. Outside of work, Dr. McDonald is passionate about giving back through community service and mentoring. He enjoys spending time with his spouse and two children, traveling, visiting museums, and watching FSU and Miami Dolphins football.

Dr McDonald is amazing. I feel completely confident in him as a dr . He’s very nice and willing to do what he can to alleviate my back and neck pain.
My back feels great after surgery of #12 vertebrae compression fracture due to a fall. I would suggest better communication at the hospital.
