Dr. Donald McGinnis strives to meet the expectations of his patients, especially when it comes to getting them back to activities they enjoy most. Working with athletes and assisting them to recover and return to sports after an injury motivated Dr. McGinnis to focus his specialization on sports medicine and arthroscopy. Growing up the son of a physician in Oklahoma City, he knew from an early age he wanted to pursue a career in medicine, just like his older siblings. His fellowship training in Sports Medicine, coupled with a desire to give back to the community has kept him active, working with athletes of all ages in a variety of sports. Dr. McGinnis serves as a U.S. Olympic Snowboarding Team Physician and has spent almost 20 years on Sooner sidelines, working as a Team Physician for the University of Oklahoma athletic programs. Dr. McGinnis and his wife, Stacy, are committed to health and wellness in their own lives and are proud parents of four grown, athletic sons.

He’s the best
After breaking my wrist, I received fast, excellent care at McBride Orthopedic Hospital. Dr. McGinnis took time to explain everything clearly and got me into surgery quickly. He previously did my ACL reconstruction with great results—highly skilled, attentive, and I highly recommend him.
