Dr. Donald A. Newman, M.D. completed his MD degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He then served a general surgery internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Next, he performed a research fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He did extensive research and development in the area of intraocular lenses. Dr. Newman completed a 3 year ophthalmology residency at the Pennsylvania State University Medical School at Hershey Medical Center.

After graduating medical school, he then served a general surgery internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Next, he performed a research fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. During this research year, he did extensive research and development in the area of intraocular lenses. The results of this research have now become a part of the everyday practice of ophthalmology throughout the United States and the world.
Following his research fellowship, Dr. Newman completed a three-year ophthalmology residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Pennsylvania State University Medical School at Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Newman was an associate clinical professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, in addition to working full time in private practice. In this capacity, he taught surgery to the eye surgeons in training at the Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Newman has published articles in medical journals, and has written several chapters in textbooks on various topics on ophthalmology. In addition, Dr. Newman was awarded a fellowship in the American College of Surgeons. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and playing the guitar.

Dr Newman answers all your questions and cares about you. Goes over all your records and gives you a good exam. I will miss his fine care I have gotten from him as he retires. I hope who replaces him will be as caring.
