What can I say-this doc is tops! He is also genuinely a very nice human being. He checks all the boxes important to me as an 81 year old woman-especially the box about answering questions. He’s confident (not haughty!) and that reassures me as I head into a back “procedure.”
It’s not unimportant that he has an exceptional support team without which he likely could not be as effective as he is. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I have a 20+year history with COA and have watched it mature-blossom through the years into a very organized, patient-centered practice. I recall the era when there was a coffee pot in the waiting room! That I do miss-that always got me there early to enjoy the coffee! I would not ever go elsewhere!
During residency and fellowship, Dr. Dmitri Sofianos received comprehensive training from the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Surgery in all aspects of spine care, from motion preservation correction surgery to the latest minimally invasive techniques and state-of-the-art instrumentation for both the cervical and lumbar spine. Additionally, he treats a wide range of muscular and skeletal trauma.
Dr. Sofianos has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters on orthopaedic and spine surgery. With AOspine North America, he has helped develop a software database to track and report patient outcomes to improve spine care. Additionally, he has been welcomed internationally as a visiting surgeon and educator in various countries, including Burma, Australia and Ghana.
Dr. Sofianos has a special interest in treatment of the ageing spine and motion preservation procedures in the cervical and lumbar spine, including disc replacement, laminoplasty and minimally invasive microsurgery.
