Derick G. Holt, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Derick G. Holt, M.D. is a partner at EYE-Q. He specializes in comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology, treating a wide spectrum of eye disorders affecting children of all ages, from newborn infants to teenagers. His practice also includes the evaluation and treatment of adult strabismus.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, where he graduated magna cum laude in both chemistry and biology, Dr. Holt earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. Holt then went on to complete his Ph.D. in oncological sciences at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. He completed his residency training at the Moran Eye Center, where he received the Resident Research Award and was one of four trainees in the nation selected to participate in the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) Resident and Fellow Research Forum. Holt went on to receive fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at the prestigious Vanderbilt Eye Institute and Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Holt is an active community member. During his residency, he provided clinical and surgical eye care to the underserved in the Salt Lake City area. Holt recently traveled to Guatemala City to provide eye care at a pediatric surgical center. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and looks forward to discovering what the Central Valley has to offer.
