Dr. Derick G. Holt, M.D. is a partner at EYE-Q. He specializes in comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology, treating a wide spectrum of eye disorders affecting children of all ages, from newborn infants to teenagers. His practice also includes the evaluation and treatment of adult strabismus.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, where he graduated magna cum laude in both chemistry and biology, Dr. Holt earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. Holt then went on to complete his Ph.D. in oncological sciences at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. He completed his residency training at the Moran Eye Center, where he received the Resident Research Award and was one of four trainees in the nation selected to participate in the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) Resident and Fellow Research Forum. Holt went on to receive fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at the prestigious Vanderbilt Eye Institute and Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Holt is an active community member. During his residency, he provided clinical and surgical eye care to the underserved in the Salt Lake City area. Holt recently traveled to Guatemala City to provide eye care at a pediatric surgical center. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and looks forward to discovering what the Central Valley has to offer.

Would be nice if the Doctor would shake the hands of the parents.
He is an amazing dr and great with my child. He always makes sure that I know what’s going on as well as my daughter I don’t feel rushed at all
He is so patient with us and always listens to moms concerns. His staff is loving to our children! We have been going since coming home from nicu! The best doctor and staff!

They make a special need child wait for over an hour for his appointment. Then the whole visit was almost 3 hours . Thought that was horrible. But him as a dr he great. They just need to get there time down better
Dr Holt is kind, thorough, communicative, and always takes the time to connect with both me and my teenager. He makes a genuine effort to engage with my teen and consistently provides care that is thoughtful, individualized, and tailored to our needs.
Dr Holt has always been good to us! He was with my (now) toddler since she was a premie in the NICU at Valley Children’s. He works with her and understands she is autistic and is kind and patient with her
