DR west nurse was inexperienced. Her inexperience showed. She was not ready to check patients in. Also someone ordered the medicine for knee injection. I got to appointment then nurse found out no knee injection medicine. I took off work.used vacation time for this. Very disappointing visit. Un professional

Dr. Derek West, a native Oklahoman, grew up in South Oklahoma City. After graduating in 2001 from the OSU Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, he returned to Oklahoma City to complete his Internship and Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Anthony Hospital. He received additional training in pediatrics from the Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as training in trauma, total joint replacement, and shoulder and elbow surgery while rotating at Tampa General Hospital in Florida.
His comprehensive practice ranges from general orthopedics and trauma to sports medicine, joint replacement procedures, and shoulder & elbow surgery. Utilizing arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques, patients benefit from smaller incisions, less pain, shorter rehabilitation periods, and an earlier return to activity.
For the last 14 years, Dr. West has enjoyed a thriving practice. He has given back to his profession by serving as the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program Director for 7 years, and by teaching and educating young orthopedic surgeons over the last decade. He also serves in leadership positions as the Chief of Surgery, Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of multiple other committees at various hospitals.
Dr. West is AOA board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
