Dr. Dean Mason graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering-construction and received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Mason completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Alabama.
Dr. Mason is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in knee and shoulder surgery with an interest in sports medicine. He is a member of most area hospital staffs.
Dr. Mason offers OMNIBotics, a robotic-assisted total knee replacement technology designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration due to osteoarthritis. Dr. Mason utilizes intelligent robotic navigation technology to map patient geometry and plan implant alignment in real time. The robotic cutting guide helps guide the surgeon to make his planned resections to great accuracy, potentially improving implant longevity and patient satisfaction.
Dr. Mason lives in Orange Beach with his wife Traci and three children. Dr. Mason is the team physician for Gulf Shores High School and is a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Beach.

Questions answered very competently.
Very attentive and encouraged questions. Made me feel involved in my plan of treatment.
Visited his office twice .. never did they take my blood pressure . check my heart rate .. check my oxygen level or my glucose level had an appointment this morning to asked Dr Mason questions on MRI he never explained anything just read it off the Radiologist’s report I’m wintering in South Alabama and received a referral for Mason from the hospital On my first visit they scheduled an MRI 4 weeks out .. when my MRI was due they had no idea I had a pacemaker and defibrillator.. I had given my instruments card to the staff at Orthopedic group I found Orthopedic Group and dr Mason to be very unprofessional ..!Mason has a very low work ethic I would never recommend him ….

It's a little like visiting a friend who just happens to be an orthopedic surgeon. It's always a pleasurable and efficient visit.
