Dr. Dawn George Mayo, M.D., has over 35 years of experience in the medical field as an OB/GYN. She graduated from Tulane Medical School and completed her residency through Walter Reed AMC.
She traveled the world providing OB/GYN care through the Army until she returned to Texas to open a private practice in San Antonio. She served as Chief of Staff for Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio as well as running a very busy clinic practice and in June of 2017, was called to Medina Healthcare System to work alongside this wonderful team of physicians at Medina Healthcare System.
Dr. Mayo could practice women’s health anywhere she chose. Her knowledge in this field is tremendous, she is an educator, a provider, and a supporter to each patient she sees.
She and her husband, George, and daughter Kaitlyn, love what Medina County has to offer both personally and professionally and call this home. When not practicing medicine, you will find the Mayo’s spending time with family and enjoying the wonders of living amongst their cattle, goats, chickens, and other farm animals.
Dr. Mayo’s areas of expertise are specialized in women’s health. She provides gynecological care within the Medical Clinic of Hondo on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and in the Medical Clinic of Castroville on Wednesday. She is always accepting new patients and gynecology referrals and is credentialed with all insurances.
