Dr. David Svetec earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Franklin and Marshall College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and met his wife. He and his wife then attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Svetec served in the United States Air Force and completed his urology residency on active duty at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year of residency.

He and his wife then attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Svetec served in the United States Air Force and completed his urology residency on active duty at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year of residency. He then was a staff urologist for five years at Scott Air Force Base Hospital, Evans Army Community Hospital, and the United States Air Force Academy Hospital before completing a laparoscopic fellowship in Texas. Dr. Svetec, his wife, and his four children then returned to Pennsylvania to be closer to extended families.
Dr. Svetec enjoys treating urology patients with minimally invasive techniques. He specializes in laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery on the adrenal glands, kidneys, ureters, bladder, and prostate. Dr. Svetec performed the first robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy in Lancaster in 2005. He has performed more than 1,000 laparoscopic and robotic procedures in Lancaster.
When not working, Dr. Svetec enjoys exercising, traveling, and staying involved in the active lives of his wife and four children.
