This is not the first time I have seen Dr. Sowa throughout the years. He has previously performed surgery on my right arm and just recently treated a problem on my left hand. He is an amazing doctor and surgeon and I absolutely will not see anyone but Dr. Sowa for any hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder need.

I’ve had 4 surgeries performed by Dr Sowa and the results have been fantastic. And, the staff at the surgery center have been great. I highly recommend.

Dr. Sowa has what's known as poor bedside manner. He exhibits weak communication skills & a lack of empathy & patience. I wonder how they got him to look into the camera & smile for his official staff photo. He never smiled nor looked directly at me once during our meeting. He seemed incapable, also, of indicating that he'd received the information I was sharing with him about my medical issue. He was impatient with the fact that I couldn't describe my pain exactly. Gee, sorry, doc, that my injury didn't produce a textbook example of physical consequences. If only I'd been able to cite a page number... I would like to have asked him what exactly he thought was going on with my hand, but he left the room before I had the chance. Dr. Sowa has a reputation as a good surgeon. Maybe he should stick to the ER & hire someone with good communication skills to to interact with the patients for him. His current assistant is practically a clone of him, so they'd need someone new.

Dr. Sowa’s bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. I asked a couple of questions multiple times because he originally ignored me asking, but after repeating he then fluffed off my concerns and downplayed my issue. He also left and came back a couple of times. Did not feel like my appointment time was my time with the doctor. I definitely did not feel heard or that I was a priority.

Unfortunately I met him because I broke my wrist. He was wonderful in the office and I felt so safe and cared for that I wasn’t even worried about having surgery.

Dr. Sowa barely acknowledged that I was there. No hello and when done giving me a shot just mumbled some answer to my question and walked out. His colleague (a different doctor, did not introduce himself) was much more informative and caring.

My appt was quick and fast but thorough. The staff is very nice but the Doc doesn't give a greeting very well.

Does not take time to educate on diagnosis. Did not ask symptom questions? No discussion of treatment plan, just assumed my symptoms based on “looking” at xray and hand.

I really respect the care that Dr Sowa provides. He listens to my concerns and treats appropriately.

Dr Sowa may be an intelligent doctor who knows his craft but his manner is cold, unfriendly and unwelcoming. I felt rushed and his explanation of my ailment was hurried with not much opportunity to ask questions. The front desk staff person was also unwelcoming. Sorry she had to do her job. The X-ray technician was the nicest of all. I will be going elsewhere and will not recommend this practice.

He was continuing h to all to his assistant about my issues. Not talking directly to me. I had to ask him several times what the meaning of his discussion was with her..He wasn’t very personable at all. Wanted in and out. I will wait for my results then I am switching doctors. ASAP .

He is an extreme professional. And he knows what he is doing and what is needed for your care. I wish though, that he would slow down a bit, and explain the reasons for the diagnosis that he made and the why's of it. We are lay people and don't have that knowledge. Simply asking "what questions do you have?" And sitting in silence while the person formulates a question, goes a long way. Maybe there isn't time for that for him, but he could turf questions to someone else. I adore him for his knowledge and skill, and wouldn't go to anyone else. Just would rather not get my info from Dr. Google.

Dr Sowa staff ask questions to understand work and design splint for tasks. I use a keyboard all day so splint was on top of finger so bottom of finger could type. Doesn’t set up unneeded apts, only come back if condition reoccurs.

Dr. Sowa has performed two surgeries on my hands. The first was a carpal tunnel release and a tendon transfer on my right hand. The second was a carpal tunnel release on my left hand and a trigger finger release on my left thumb. He’s an excellent surgeon. I highly recommend him.

No doubt he is experienced in his field, but he doesn’t have any bedside manners, he doesn’t give any eye contact. During my interaction with him, his face was down looking at the paperwork. My appointment was at 0930am and I got back to my car at 0930am.

He is very good at what he does, the best! Would recommend him to everyone.

I was referred to Dr. Sowa because of his level of experience. I will never walk into Dr. Sowa's office again or refer him to anyone!

Dr. Sowa was so inundated with patients that he really didn't have time to spend with me. He answered my questions but didn't elaborate or point out to me the pros and cons of the procedure I am interested in. I think this is a common problem in big group practices but I doubt that I will return.

Doctor didn't check properly and didn't provide any solution to the pain. Doctor seemed to be too eager to leave the room without doing proper diagnosis. My son is very angry on the doctor. How could such a highly rated doctor not try to find the actual reason behind the pain. Callus doesn't cause such pain.
