He hadn’t seen me in awhile, and he took his time to make sure he was caught up on my care. He’s very nice and personable. He takes the time to help you figure out what’s going on with you.

Staff is always friendly but the regular 1.5 hour wait beyond my appointment time is not acceptable. I’d have to say I will walk out next time at the 45 minute mark

After completing his medical training, Dr. Schmidt joined Cabrillo Cardiology with his interest in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of all facets of Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Schmidt is the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Pleasant Valley Hospital. He is also the Medical Director of the Chest Pain Center at both hospitals. Dr. Schmidt has also been the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and the Chief of Staff at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Dr. Schmidt has been the Principal Investigator in the Clinical trial on Stem Cell Treatment for Ischemic Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure and a Sub Investigator in several other studies in Cardiology. He is a frequent lecturer on a variety of topics in the field of Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Schmidt is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Schmidt is dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate, and state of the art care to his patients. He is married with three children and loves spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking in our local mountains, biking, playing tennis and reading about architecture and history.
