Doctor came in, did my exam and said we will schedule the MRI and let you know what’s next. He didn’t ask me how I felt or if I had any questions. Dr. Rion was very friendly and welcoming to me as a new patient. He answered my questions in ways that helped me understand my injury and treatment options. He also showed me pictures of the knee and where my injury was located to explain how that part of my body works and why it was causing pain. He asked an adequate number of questions to assess my pain level and ability to function. He reassured me that continuing physical therapy was a good plan and that he would help me decide on treatment options once we received MRI results. His knowledge and confidence eased my anxiety about my injury and I look forward to working with him.

He came in the room for maybe 1 minute. Didn't ask me about my hip. What is going on at Ortho NC??

I had to pay a $55 copay to take Dr. Rion a letter from my insurance, addressed to him, indicating what they needed to approve an MRI he ordered. I had tried to contact the office on 2 different occasions and was transferred to someone’s voicemail indicating she she was out of the office on extended leave. Was not happy with the disorganization of this office this time. Before this episode i have been very pleased with all services received. Breakdown in communications somewhere and it cost me a copay even though i received no services.

Dr Rion is an outstanding doctor and great surgeon. He has done a great job helping me with my knee replacements and dealing with a previous motorcycle accident.

Dr. Rion did a total hip replacement on my right hip in April. The results were remarkable and the relief from pain was realized immediately. Dr. Rion was 45 minutes late for my appointment, he was very arrogant, I asked him if my X-rays were better, he said they were about the same. I never have had a clear answer what is wrong with my knee, he’s never given a clear answer. He gave me a shot in my knee, it’s been a year since I have been and it used to be every 6 months so I told him I hoped to not see him for a year and he said yeah it needs to be longer because you are so young. I am going to change doctors so I can get a clear understanding of what the problem is and how to fix it.

Polite and attentive. Did not try to push a treatment that I didn’t feel ready for. Very understanding. The appointment was a little short. I didn’t feel like I had time to convey the full history/status of my injury. I don’t think that’s his fault though.

Dr Rion performed shoulder replacement for me. He did a fantastic job. I'm able to perform all duties around my house with no pain. I adhere to his weight limit of lifting no more than 25 pounds, and I have had no issues. I have no pain and there are many days when I don't even think about my shoulder.

Was able to help me with my hip pain the same day as my new patient visit -first xrays (without having to take off my clothes), then he examined my hip motion, and gave me the guided injection after the room was free. It was weird how he chatted with nurse about personal/social matters while doing procedure. Wasn't what I'm used to, felt like a 3rd wheel so politely interrupted them. Don't ignore patients, maybe?
