I have confidence in Dr Rhee as a clinician, and I’m sure he is a skilled surgeon. My concern over observing him with myself and another patient over many months and several appointments is that he is not a good listener. I have observed where concerns are raised with him and instead of addressing what’s brought to his attention he answers in an almost defensive manner, and doesn’t respond to what was raised. I see where the practice is busy and his time is limited, but Dr. Rhee should train himself, when a question or concern is raised, to ask the patient if how he responds adequately answers the concern that was brought to his attention. He should also always ask a patient, before he leaves, if they have any questions.
In addition, I question the hiring practices of VRC with regard to support staff. You have a number of “forward facing” people, those who directly interface with patients, who seem openly adverse to dealing with people.
