Dr. David Nava Jr. grew up in Edinburg, Texas. He loved the small town feel and friendliness of his hometown. Dr. David Nava Jr. received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at The University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. He graduated from The University of North Texas Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas with a Mater of Science in Biomedical Sciences. He received his MD at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Most recently, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency program at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
When Dr. David Nava Jr. was growing up, he felt that there was a disconnect between patients and the physicians who were treating them. He witnessed it first-hand with his family, and he chose to go into medicine and bridge that gap. He believes that long term relationships that come with primary care will create the change he wants to see in healthcare. He was drawn to Gonzaba after witnessing patients feeling at home in a welcoming environment. His ultimate goal as a physician is to serve the community.
Dr. David Nava Jr. is currently a part of The American College of Physicians organization and the Texas Medical Association. When he is not working, he enjoys concerts, learning new languages, weight training, being outdoors, hiking, and sports.
